OUR HISTORY
Formerly known as The Peninsula Shepherd Center, the Peninsula Community Senior Center is a member of the Shepherd's Center's of America, also now known as Aging Forward and was incorporated as a 501 (c) (3) in 1983 through the efforts of the Reverend William McClellan, a pastor at the time at Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church. It was founded as a coalition of local churches and service organizations in the Peninsula communities of Point Loma, Ocean Beach, and the Midway/ Sports Arena whose mission it is to help older adults in the Peninsula communities remain independent and active in their homes for as long as possible, while providing opportunities to learn, grow, and serve. Our vision is a community that honors, respects, and cares for older adults.
